A handy FC2 hack
Recently, my friend Siddharth asked me, "Why do all folders and files in FC2 open up in new windows?". So I set upon the journey to discover the path to editing this feature in Nautilus.
My journey took me to
Stop No. 1 Click on System Tools and Configuration Editor under that.
Stop No. 2 In the window that opens, you'd see a list on your left. Click on "apps"
Stop No. 3 Scroll down to nautilus and double-click on it. Single-click on "preferences"
Stop No. 4 You'd see a list on the right. Look for "always_use_browser" and check it.
Stop No. 5 The last step of the journey is to restart X.
Explanation of "always_use_browser"
You'd find out yourself what this does but I will tell you all the same. This option would make Nautilus behave the way it used to in previous versions of GNOME: address bar, buttons and no new window for every double-click.
Always remember: if there's a solution to your problem, LinuxLala is gonna deliver it to you :)
