Why India is struggling with localized language computing
This is a great read folks. I was amazed when I first read this piece. It's by my brother so I am bound to say it is good but you be your own judge.
It basically is a study, from the trencdhes one could say. It explains why localization has not yet picked up. The attitude or lack of it, is not what one would expect from developing nations where localization has a real potential.
The ability to utilize the potential of majority of a nations population is provided by localization. One need not be english literate to be IT literate. The article has some beautiful comments from people like Sankarshan Mukopadhay(Ankur Project), Dr. Nagarjuna, Chairman FSF-India and Nirav Mehta, founder of the Utkarsh project.
This follows a string of articles by me and my brother on localization.
